Brother Audrey Freeman speaks at dinner following the round of golf.

On Saturday, April 25th, over 100 Alpha Nu’s gathered at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop for the Audrey Freeman Golf Classic. From the newest Fall 2014 initiates to brothers from the 1940s, the golf tournament brought together over 70 years of the Alpha Nu Chapter.  It was a perfect day of weather, making for a pleasant round of golf before everyone gathered for dinner. To the delight of all present, Brother Audrey Freeman was able to make it out to the event. The day proved to be a fitting celebration of the 6th anniversary of the chapter’s re-installation on campus in 2009, which fell on the day of the tournament.

Additionally, brothers were interviewed and filmed for a new documentary being made to chronicle the history of the Alpha Nu Chapter and the life of Audrey Freeman. Stay tuned for more on this in the near future.

Thank you to the Alpha Nu House Corporation for hosting the event and to everyone who made it out. Also, a special thanks to all the sponsors of the tournament, including David Walton, title sponsor, and Linden Welsch, dinner sponsor and numerous other sponsors, some of whom could not make it out to the tournament but still wanted to contribute. With these sponsorships and the generous donations from alumni, we were able to raise a great deal of funds to help Brother Freeman with his medical expenses. The call to help Audrey Freeman was met by an overwhelming willingness to help; thank you for your support and generosity for Brother Freeman.

See below for the pictures from the event and a video clip of Audrey.
